A Cappella Pop Choruses are generally a day long event from 9:00am to approximately 3:00pm with a performance at 4:00pm.

• Interested girls can register for the day here [Subject: A Cappella Pop Chorus].
• We accept ages from 7th grade through 12th grade and the group size can range from 60 to 120 from 4-5 schools all at one event. The more the merrier!
• Once registered, participants are provided learning materials, music (.PDF), and learning tracks (.mp3) needed for the day.
• Choose your voice-part by your voice range and get a head start learning the music. Know that the 2 bass staff parts are to be sung an octave higher than written.
• Let us know what part you will be learning so we have some idea if we have balanced parts. (It would be a little difficult to perform if we didn't have any basses at all!) 
• We challenge you to learn your part before you come. The day is jam-packed and there's not a lot of time for memorization. 
• While at the workshop, singers will learn more about how to sing their part smart in the 4-part a cappella barbershop style.
• Singers will be expected to be off paper and ready to perform the songs on stage for friends and family by the end of the day.
• Students will be taught the basics of the barbershop style of harmony singing as well as how to present themselves onstage while singing by adding face and body movements to enhance the song story.

Option: Book a BBS Demo

Music teachers are invited to Book a BBS Demo with our YWIH coordinator for your classes.

How it works ...

• You set the date and time you want a team to be there for your class(es).
• We send at least a quartet or more to demonstrate barbershop style basics.
• We can spend just a morning, or afternoon, or the whole day.
• Our objective: to demonstrate how barbershop is different from choral and other styles of singing. What makes it unique. How voices blend ... and don't blend. How to balance a chord using the "cone" and when not to use it.
• Optional: We can bring a couple tags to teach the students.
• Optional: We'd love to hear your choral groups sing a song or 2
• Optional: We'd love to perform 2-3 songs for you and your classes

Music Scholarship

A music scholarship is also available from our chorus to any students who wish to apply. Our Board of Directors reviews any applications submitted annually just prior to the end of the High School Fiscal Year. Application Form .pdf
