PERFORMING IN OUR COMMUNITY

50's Show Package2008 "LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!" is this year's theme and "Fill My Life with Music!" is the phrase that opens the show. Songs like "Dancin' in the Street" and a great fun jazz tune with some "jive talk" and slides called "As Long as I'm Singin' My Song" (arranger Larry Wright) are just a few hilights of this performance package.

2007 "FOCUS ON FUN!" has become a part of our readiness training for International Competition in Calgary in October. We are having a great time working on our competition package. Yes, I said WORKING! A commitment and focus on producing a fuller sound and becoming independent singers by the entire chorus is paying off big time in the sheer of producing good music.

2006 "CELEBRATION!" is our fun block party theme thru the summer park season ... with songs like "Thank You for the Music", "Let's Hear It For The Boys!", "Blue Moon" (with a ba-ba-ba-bah-bah, dang-a-dang dang, ding-a-dong ding!), and other great tunes from that time. It's been tennis shoes and comfort through this summer!

This year, the recurring audience murmur was: "MAN! WHAT ENERGY! It wears me out just watching them!"

Whatever else we gather for - camaraderie, perfecting our music and stagecraft skills, working on repertoire and choreography--OUR MOST IMPORTANT OBJECTIVE IS ALWAYS TO MAKE SURE WE ENTERTAIN OUR AUDIENCES. 1999 'I.R.S.-I'd Rather Sing!' - Ted Mann Theatre

There's nothing like performing onstage! Telling a story in song and feeling the special magic that happens between the performer and the audience is one of the most exciting experiences in the world! The Twin Cities Show Chorus has had the joy of giving some very captivating performances and wonderfully unique audiences.

Exciting stage shows!

Once a year we plan and produce our own stage or cabaret show. Conceived, scripted, and choreographed by members of the chorus, our shows may revisit classic musicals, share holiday music, remember days gone by or contemplate life's interesting questions.

Community Performances
Enriching the community with the joy of song is one aspect of our mission. We have sung for various corporate, fraternal, church and educational functions as well as charitable fundraising events, indoors and out.

With our special blend of humor and harmony, our mixed repertoire of traditional barbershop, pop, gospel, and swing music, we aim to please audiences everywhere.

1998tcgr1.jpg "Paper or Plastic" was the 1998-9 roadshow performed at the Hopkins Center for the Arts and at the newly renovated Clayton Concert Hall in Redwing, and in the parks throughout that summer.

For this particular concert we did a special song entitled "Minneapolis and St. Paul" composed and arranged by a local song writer for our local WCCO radio station. We our chorus name being the "Twin Cities Chorus", Judy Olson, our director, thought it fit us to a tee and got him to arrange it in 4-part harmony for the chorus. We waved homer hankies in honor of the Twins recent win.
