Phyl Quigley Phyllis Quigley - Charter Member joined 1961 Voicepart: Bass
"The chorus looked like they were having so much fun. I visited them and found there was a part lower than alto (bass) which suited me fine."
Phyllis "Boom Boom" Quigley (bass) joined the Richfield Crosstown Chapter of Sweet Adelines in 1961. She and her husband Ken who she met in kindergarten, have two sons, a daughter, and lots of grandchildren.

Music was an integral part of family life for her. When the children were young the Quigleys performed together for various church programs. Phyl and her oldest daughter still travel to international conventions together.

Phyl played clarinet (nickname "Tooter") in six local bands. She also was a member of a mother singers group until the night she and a friend went to hear the Richfield Sweet Adeline chorus. The members looked as though they were having so much fun that she just couldn't resist joining them.

T.C.S.C Mushroom Awards & Special Memories
themushroomawd.jpg The Mushroom Award is just one of T.C.'s TRADITIONS. It is passed on to the member who somehow never quite gets the word - or in other words, is day dreaming under a mushroom somewhere.

This particular recipient was Kathy Gray - one of the instigators of this particular tradition. She has received it more than once!

Kathy Gray is also one of our special technical experts, stage manager, staging builder, script writer, bari section leader, an extraordinary teacher. She is one of those who always comes back with the positive - not the negative.

1992showivory1.jpg 1992 Fun with Snow "Ivory" - JoAnn Flanagan, MC adlib specialist, an amazing dervish of positive motivation and organization not only in the Twin Cities chorus, but in the Region as well. Always willing to try something new, and not afraid to jump in with both feet. If you want something to get done, see JoAnn.

Update 2003: JoAnn and her family moved to Texas -- TCs loss and a Texas chorus gain!

Next to her is hubby to one of our Charter members, Audrey Kaiser. Hubbies support our hobby in their own way. Some haul staging, or put up risers, and some watch the kids, put up with making their own supper on rehearsal night. We thank them!

1992snowivory3witches.jpg 1992 continued ... and the witches, Sue White-T.C.'s print and sign wizard, riser mover, and staging builder; and Jo Ludington though not a performing member, still pops in to help when needed.

1998-ginny-joann.jpg 1998 Show - "Paper or Plastic" - Ginny Charland (passed on 2003) and JoAnn Flanagan having some fun with hats and lists.

Ginny Charland - "Entertainer Extraordinaire" sadly passed away April 2003. Ginny was a professional musician and nightclub entertainer in the Twin Cities area for many years. Ginny had an instinct for stage magic.2000xsho-ginnyc.jpg

1995msjaneandjudy.jpg 1995 Jane Servais, our "Character" (and another quiet one) mugging with Judy Olson, our fabulous Director.

Jane is also a recipient of our Mushroom Award. In fact, the year after she received it, she was supposed to pass it on, but "forgot".

She was awarded the Mushroom when, being a conscientious show chairman one cold winter day, she got so-o busy directing show business at the auditorium, hauling in props and costumes, that she left her car running out in the parking lot the entire time! Bless her heart! Needless to say, when she left, it had run out of gas!

Judy received her own Mushroom Award. But being a mushroom myself, I can't recall the reason!

25-Year Anniversary Celebration Booklet
25-yr Book cover
The thumbnails below link to a PDF of each single page of the full-color version of the booklet.
This booklet is filled with the history, stories, and photos of the TC chorus and it's members.
Two versions were done. A black and white version and a full color version. The black and white version contained ads to help pay for the printing costs. The Color version was a limited printing and the ad pages were replaced by other things. It was used as a basis for much of the history on this website.
We did an accompanying CD with the same cover to give out with each booklet.
