T.C.S.C. Bev Watson Scholarship
T.C.S.C. and Young Women in Harmony
The Twin Cities Chorus of Sweet Adelines International provides at least one small monetary scholarship (up to $500) annually to support and encourage youth participation in the art of barbershop harmony singing and other vocal music education events beyond high school years.

The award is given in honor of Bev Watson's friendship and support of the Twin Cities Chorus. (See story of our first award recipient, Nana Wolfe.)

If you know of a student or music educator deserving of this award and wish to obtain an Application, or find out more about eligibility requirements and deadlines, email us at: info@tcshowchorus.org or contact one of our Management Team.

Sweet Adelines International and the Barbershop Harmony Society (SPEBSQSA) provide several educational events and opportunities in which members and the public can participate every year. Our requirements usually involve attending or participating in one of these events. A more local Calendar of Events (seminars, shows, etc) can be found on our Can-Am Region Six website or on the L'OL District website.

Two letters of recommendation must accompany the Scholarship Application Form.PDF. One should be from an educator who is familiar with the applicant's musical abilities.

In addition to a photograph of the recipient (to be used in publications) and contact information, we ask four basic questions:
  1. Event you plan to attend
  2. Current musical expertise/background
  3. How do you plan to make use of your music education (eg. future occupation or vocation)
  4. Do you plan to pursue additional education in music? If so, provide a brief outline of those plans.
